All About Bralettes

All About Bralettes

Bralettes are a true unsung hero of the lingerie world. Whether you want something padded, low-cut, supportive, or skimpy–there’s a bralette for you.

Ready to become a bralette expert? Good. We’re going to give you the rundown of all the different bralettes bra types out there so you can find your best fit. And they’re all available from yours truly.

Bandeau bralettes

A bandeau bralette is a simple strip that goes over your boobs, sometimes with ruching in the middle. It’s essentially a shorter tube top with the gift of extra support. Generally, bandeaus are made with stretchy fabric rather than having a fastening at the back.

For larger breasts, you might need something with a little more structure, but bandeau bras are a comfortable option for those of us with smaller cup sizes. Perfect under strapless dresses or tops, bandeaus are also a fashion statement on their own –– pair a Lace Lined Bandeau with a loose tank top that lets the fabric peek through.

Convertible bralettes

Of all the bralette types, a convertible bralette is the most versatile. The straps on a Convertible Bralette can be detached, so it can be worn as a regular bra, strapless, halter, or cross-back style.

We all have dresses and tops that get left at the back of our closets because they can’t be worn with traditional bras — and that's where a convertible bralette comes in handy. Some convertible bras even come with a low-back option.

Crossover bralettes

A crossover bralette is designed for everyday wear — the kind of bralette you can have on all day without getting uncomfortable. They’re a minimal silhouette but provide a high level of support– the kind of bra you’ll want to buy in every color and print

Wear them under t-shirts, while lounging around at home, under a shirt at work, or with your outfit on a night out. When we say versatile, we really mean it.

Triangle bralettes

You can probably guess where this type of bra got its name. Triangle bralettes are a lower-coverage option, designed to be more sexy than supportive. They have a low, plunging neckline, so are great to wear with low-cut dresses and tops.

Triangle bralettes are wireless and incredibly comfortable if you’ve got smaller boobs. Sure, a triangle bra won’t give you the same support as a t-shirt bra or underwire bra, but what they lack in support they make up in style.

We also have a Padded Triangle Bralette if you’re looking for that extra boost.

Padded bralettes

A padded bralette has — you guessed it — padding in the base of the cup to give your breasts a lift. They come in a range of different shapes: demi cup, t-shirt bra, bandeau, crossover, triangle… the list goes on!

Padded bralettes go with any outfit, though they’re particularly useful if you need a little assistance filling out a certain shirt or dress. It’s important to note that even though padded bras do make your boobs look bigger, you should still buy the same size that you normally would.

V-neck bralettes

The V-neck Bralette looks like the ideal hybrid between a bandeau and a triangle bralette. It’s not quite as low-cut as a triangle bra, but it’s not a straight strip of fabric like a bandeau. They do have a little more support, thanks to the larger cups, so they’re great for boobs of all sizes.

Typically V-neck bralettes have a thick band to make you feel held in and secure, even without underwire. They’re an ultra-comfy bra option that can be worn under t-shirts –– and you could even just wear it as a top with a skirt or shorts. Ours comes in fan-favorite Retro Lace.

Scoopneck bralettes

Last but not least, the Scoopneck. This is arguably the most ‘everyday’ option in the bralette universe. This might be because it could arguably be the comfiest–and the closest to a sports bra. Ours gently stretch for long lasting comfort.
